AUNHRE meeting Centre Point Hotel Silom, Bangkok 29th June 2018
25 members of ASEAN university members participated to discuss on how to make HR more visible, to be practiced, and not just a concept in textbooks. It is not enough to just talk about it but no action can be taken. But then, things are progressing albeit slowly.
SHAPE-SEA has contributed to the improvement of HR and peace education in ASEAN through different components like education and research. Discussion on the planning and strategizing for the second phase of SHAPE-SEA also ensued.
The meeting was supported by CEDA and Mahidol University.
Sightseeing at the Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market
Since I have some time before the Workshop on Teaching Human Rights begins, I took time to visit the Floating Market which is in one of my bucket list. I took a taxi from my accommodation to Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market. I reached the place early morning so that it wouldn’t be too hot to walk around or having to too many people at the market. What I experience is simply amazing! The Thais were really creative when it comes into entrepreneurship. It was really inspiring to see so many local products being sold in the market.
